Breadfast: Story, Founders, Investors & Funding Rounds

Mostafa Amin, Muhammad Habib, and Abdallah Nofal started Breadfast in 2017 to meet the need for a convenient, on-demand delivery service of freshly baked bread and other breakfast items.

They started their business with the simple goal of giving Egyptian families a place where they could buy everything they needed every day, from bread to toilet paper. They also started their business to make sure that people in Cairo could always get fresh, high-quality bread.

In Arabic, the word for bread is aish, which means “life.” Bread is an important part of every home, but it is not always easy to get.

Breadfast is currently used by tens of thousands of homes in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, and Mansoura. These homes all use the Breadfast app to do their shopping. They want to be a part of every family in Egypt and the MENA region by growing their local and international supply chain and logistics services.

How it Works

Breadfast is a simple online grocery store that brings you fresh food every day. Breadfast is like a quick stop at the grocery store. Milk, eggs, bread, fruits, vegetables, meats, canned goods, pantry basics, diapers, wipes, cleaning supplies, toys, and personal care items are all available there. They are always adding more home items and needs to their app.

Breadfast is also a high-tech grocery app that lets you get your food without having to wait in line. They have all the baked goods, groceries, and home goods you could want, so you don’t have to wait in line at the store.

Since it started in April 2017, the company has grown to serve 14 of Cairo’s most important neighborhoods. It now helps thousands of households get their daily bread, milk, eggs, and other necessities.

Breadfast takes orders every day until 10 p.m. through its website and mobile apps. Every night, the company bakes, and customers get their orders between 5 and 11 am the next morning.

Some of the Cairo districts they serve are Dokki, Mohandessin, Maadi, 6th of October, Sheikh Zayed, Al Rehab City, New Cairo, Madinaty, El Shorouk, Mokattam, Nasr City, Heliopolis, and Obour. They’re getting bigger so they can help more neighborhoods in the city. You can place an order at any time of the day and decide whether you want it delivered the same day or the next.

Additionally, Breadfast is one of the few MENA businesses that Y Combinator has accepted.
