Nelly Chatue Diop was born in Cameroon and she did her schooling there. After earning her degree in computer science and MBA from HEC Paris and London Business School, Nelly has spent the last 15+ years across Europe and the United States building expertise in emerging technologies, traditional, and Web 3.0 through her participation in several directorial projects. 

Career

As a seasoned entrepreneur, she has much professional and entrepreneurship experience in the tech world.

With an MSc in electronics, computer science, and telecommunications, she started her professional career, in 2004, as a software engineer for Accenture. 

In 2007 and 2008, she got an MBA in Corporate Finance from HEC Paris and an MBA in Finance from the London Business School. 

Concurrently, she made a brief stint as a summer associate at Credit Suisse before joining Revenue Management Solutions (RMS), a multinational offering data-driven solutions to help restaurants improve decision-making. 

From 2011 to 2015, she climbed up the corporate ladder of grocery store chain Franprix before joining Darty as a pricing director. 

While still with Franprix, she co-founded Booper, a company offering price optimization solutions. In 2018, months after leaving Darty, she also co-founded Nzinghaa Lab, specializing in Artificial intelligence and blockchain.

 At the same time, she was still the chief data officer of Betclic Group, which she left in 2020. The same year when she left Betclic Group, she was appointed chairperson of the board of Giotto.ai

 Her romance with computer science began in 2000. Winner of a scholarship of excellence from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she studied at the CPE Lyon where she obtained her engineering degree in computer science and telecommunications in 2004. 

For 4 years, she worked as a developer. Then, she decided to pursue her studies in finance.

She enrolled at HEC Paris in 2006 where she completed an MBA program in finance, marketing, and strategy. 

She pursued her studies at the London Business School as part of an international exchange program in marketing, finance, and strategy. 

She then worked for an investment bank in London and returned to France where she joined an American company that specialized in pricing and data and that uses statistical models to recommend the best prices for different items and services.

In 2013, she joined the French group Casino where she set up the Pricing and Data department.

 In 2015, she joined the Darty group where she developed the same department. She also created the same department for Betclic Group which she joined in 2017. 

A company specializing in sports betting, online casinos, and poker. She put together a team of 30 people with whom she worked until she left the company in 2020 to embark on entrepreneurship.

During her different professional experiences, she specialized in the detection of fraud in financial transactions. 

Through her work, she also made it possible to know customers better, to categorize and segment them to identify those who add more value to the company and those who are losing ground.

In 2020, she launched her start-up Ejara.io, a blockchain-based mobile investment platform specifically designed for the French and African markets and their diaspora.
